Service Learning and Volunteerism

I was winner of the PAWS award January 2018.  What does PAWS stand for?  It stands for Positive Attitude, Accountability, Willingness to Learn and Service.  This is an award given once per month to a student in each grade that demonstrates these traits.  I was honored to receive this award last year. 

In order for me to receive the Presidential Award I have to do community service.  The last 3 years I have really enjoyed my time volunteering at the Green Ambassadors Program.  I help take care of plants by watering and transplanting them as well as offered tours and share information about the Riverview Community Garden.  Here I have learned all about taking care of herbs, vegetables, and composting.

I also volunteered my time as a lighting tech in the middle school production of Seussical in the spring of 2018.
